By Land: A Story of Exploration, Growth, and Authenticity

By Land isn’t a brand—it’s my personal journey into the outdoors, documented and shared in real-time. It started as a way to record my experiences and share what I’ve learned, but over time, it’s become something bigger: a creative outlet, a storytelling platform, an educational resource, and a place for personal growth.

At its core, By Land is about getting outside and having an adventure—whatever that looks like for you. Whether it’s hiking, backpacking, hunting, or simply taking in the world beyond your doorstep, the outdoors is an opportunity for exploration, learning, and self-improvement. The more time we spend outside, the better we become—not just in our skills, but in our perspectives, confidence, and understanding of ourselves.

A Different Approach to Outdoor Content

By Land isn’t built on algorithms or trends. It’s not about chasing views, followers, or viral moments—I’ve been sucked into that trap before and and it’s very unfulfilling. By Land is about being real—documenting my experiences, sharing what I’ve learned, and offering insights that actually matter (at least to me anyhow). There’s no secret agenda other than to explore, grow, and encourage others to do the same.

Rather than fitting into a single outdoor niche, By Land is fluid, adapting as I do. Some seasons of my life I might focus on backpacking, others on photography, fastpacking, or even hunting. My content shifts based on what I’m most passionate about at the moment, keeping it honest, dynamic, and engaging-including how I share it.

How By Land Works

By Land exists across multiple mediums, allowing me to share experiences in the way that makes the most sense for each topic:

  • Podcast: conversations with friends, experts, and outdoor leaders.

  • Blog: A central record of my journey, lessons learned, and practical advice.  An all in one repository for my work.

  • YouTube: A mix of short-form insights, videos from the trail, podcasts, and a bit of creativity

  • Courses & Guides: Condensed, practical knowledge for those looking to get started or level up.  Some paid to help with publication costs, and some free because it’s the right thing to do.
