Episode 011 The Dynamics of Solo Hunting with Ryan Lampers

Ryan Lampers is a solo hunter, and he's good at it.  Like, really good.  He's been doing it nearly all his life and while it may have begun out of necessity, it's turned into something he's come to cherish.  Solo hunting gives Ryan a dynamic challenge that can only be found when the sole person responsible for pushing himself is himself.

Solo hunting isn't easy.  In fact, it's hard both mentally and physically.  On this episode of The By Land Podcast, Ryan joins me to talk about the uniqueness of what he does and how he does it.  He talks with me about how he got into solo hunting, why he continues to do it, and what he gets out of it as opposed to hunting with a partner.

You don't have to be a hunter to appreciate this conversation with Ryan.  If you're a backpacker and ever find yourself in a situation where a friend can't go or maybe cancels on your last minute and you question whether or not you should continue alone, then this episode is for you.

Rolling solo into the wilderness is a daunting task no matter how far you go or what you're doing out there.  It brings an entirely new dynamic to an adventure and as you'll hear Ryan discuss, you either love it or hate it.

For those willing to go solo, something special very awaits you.  Self reliance, confidence, instinct, enhanced senses, and decision making are all on your shoulders.  You decide each move and have no one to blame for your mistakes.  On the flip side, you're also the only one responsible when you're successful in the field and when that happens, it's just that much sweeter.

Solo or not, you're going to love this chat with Ryan Lampers.  Thanks for tuning in!
